The karst-like topography of the concentrated red gravel rock, which represents the process of Earth’s evolution, is called Tanka. Six representative areas, Tangha Mountain in Guangdong Province, Taining in Fujian Province, Yongho Mountain in Jiangxi Province, 莨 Mountain in Hunan Province, Jiangling Mountain in Zhejiang Province, and Akasui in Guizhou Province, have been listed as World Natural Heritage Sites.

Tangha Mountain, Guangdong Province
Dangasan Mountain in Guangdong Province is located in the area where Inhwa and Gokgang prefectures meet in Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, and the area is 290 km2. The main peak, 寨, is 618 meters above sea level. Fossils of Neanderthal skulls have been found at the southwest end of the Tanka Basin, an important clue to the study of early homosapiens. The Ishigyo Cultural Site in Shishibawi Rock is a 6,000-year-old Paleo-human cultural relic from the late Neolithic period.

Taining, Fujian Province
It is the largest of the danha topography in Taining, Fujian Province. With vertical cliffs over 100m high, mysterious rocks with countless holes, and unique strange rocks resembling animal shapes, the rocky mountains of Taenyeongdanha have typical characteristics among “China Danha.”

Mt. Yongho in Jiangxi Province
Yonghosan Mountain in Gangseo-gu is located 16km south of Eungdam-si in Gangseo-gu, with a total area of 380km2. Yonghosan Mountain has a series of strange peaks that look like samples of Danha topography. In addition, there are countless burial sites on the cliff of Seonsubawi Rock in Yonghosan Mountain, and the number of coffins exceeds 100. All of them are inlaid and placed on cliffs, and when you look at the entire coffin group, it looks like a huge scroll and is very mysterious.

Mt. Jiangling in Zhejiang Province
Ganglosan Mountain in Zhejiang Province is located in Ganglang Village 25km south of Gangsanseong Fortress, and rocks, holes, clouds, and waterfalls gather in one mountain, making it spectacular. There are three large stones standing at the top of the mountain, 369.1m high, similar to bamboo shoots in appearance, and when viewed from north to south, it looks like a river. It is called “Sam爿 Stone” in the order of “Robong,” “Abong,” and “Yeongbong.” The mountains are spacious and foggy, so the sky and the mountains are united and the scenery is wonderful.
