This last part seems to be a question from Andersen to us. I thought that what Andersen wanted to convey in this story might be summarized here, and I conceived the “Mermaid.”
The work focused on the delicate emotions of the Little Mermaid and the relationship between the prince and his fiancee, and organized the characters and stories to depict the human figure. The performance time is just under two hours including a break. We also considered that the first act was about 45 minutes long, and that it was about the same time as an elementary school class, so that children could concentrate.
