A sprain is an injury that occurs when a joint is twisted.
I tripped and twisted it on the level difference. I twisted it when I moved my weight during sports
I missed my step on the stairs, etc

It can be divided into those that apply force directly to the joint and those that do not.

For example, there are injuries caused by a tackle entering the knee directly and by twisting the knee when landing,
As a result, inner and outer ligaments, anterior cruciate, posterior cruciate ligaments, and meniscus damage occur. Meniscus injury is common in sports trauma, but in the elderly, minor injuries and daily movements can also cause damage (degenerative rupture). In the case of disc-shaped meniscus damage, there may be no obvious cause such as injury.

Symptoms such as painful feeling of being caught or the knee does not stretch straight are often seen.
There is no pain when resting, and it may only be accompanied by pain or a sharp sound when moving up and down stairs or bending and stretching knees.
When the torn meniscus is caught in the joint, the so-called “locking” phenomenon occurs, and knee bending and stretching can suddenly become impossible.
Water may accumulate in the knee joint (articular edema).
diagnosis
The diagnosis of meniscus damage is performed by (1) a physician’s examination (a tenderness, McMurray test, an applet test, an overstretch test) and (2) an MRI (M.I.: nuclear magnetic resonance imaging).

Because meniscus is not reflected in X-rays or CTs, MRI examination is essential for diagnosis.
There are various forms of meniscus damage, such as longitudinal rupture, lateral rupture, and horizontal rupture, and the healing process varies depending on the damaged area, so MRI examination is also useful for determining the treatment policy.
Small rupture or lateral meniscus damage near the torn tendon of the knee socket muscle can be difficult to diagnose even with MRI. In addition to the special imaging method, the diagnosis is made through detailed medical history (injury mechanism) and physical findings (medical examination by a doctor).
