Wild boar attacks villagers

Wild boars are easily misunderstood, but they are originally diurnal animals that, like humans, use the sun as their living time.

Many people may say, “You only see it at night,” but in fact, they are very timid animals, so they just change their behavior at night when they can’t see humans.

Therefore, wild boars that have become accustomed to humans and become less vigilant will appear even during the day.

Also, wild boars today are creatures that live deep in the mountains, but they were originally flatland creatures. Some documents in the Edo period describe hunting wild boars living on a flat land that is not so deep in the mountains.

As humans expanded their habitats and advanced toward the mountains, wild boars gradually moved their habitats to the mountains.

Other than that, wild boars don’t have a fixed territory. I usually dig up the ground every day within the range of 2km to find food.

Within that range, they make their favorite safe sleeping quarters. There are several bedrooms and I use them differently from time to time.

But if a hound barks at you while hunting, you change your place of living so easily that you don’t come back for more than a week.

There is no territorial dispute. Males usually fight with each other when they are fighting for females. I have an image that wild boars have many children.

Once a year, wild boars get pregnant in spring or autumn and give birth to about four children at a time. And about half of them die of hunger and other causes before they reach the age of one.

It is often said that wild boars give birth twice in spring and autumn, but they have a chance to get pregnant in spring and autumn, and they don’t have children until the time comes until the end of raising their children.

If you cannot have children in spring (or autumn), or if all children die, you may have children at the next time.

(That’s why quite a few hunters don’t use tie traps to capture mothers and children without identifying them. If the child is captured first, the mother who lost the child will soon be able to conceive.)

I often hear that wild boars these days cross with pigs that have escaped and become more inobutanized and prolific.

So DNA research was conducted on the captured wild boar, but little confirmation was made of inobutanization.

In addition, pigs can give birth at once in wild environments, basically around four pigs, no different from wild boars. The survival rate is the same after a year.

On record, there are pigs and wild boars that have given birth to more than six children, but this is a very rare case.

Pigs are prolific and pregnant immediately after giving birth because humans raise and manage them. If a human separates all the children from the pig that gave birth, it immediately becomes pregnant.

However, mothers with around 10 children are often seen.

This is because several related parents and children form a group, gather the children together, and mothers take turns taking care of them.

So it’s very likely that there are other mothers hiding around a mother with about 10 children in her care.
