カナダに住んでるカワウソは超スパルタで有名である
カワウソは川や湖に生息し、主に魚やカエルなどの水生生物を捕食する
陸上で生活する動物ではあるけど、早く上手に泳げるようになるかどうかが命に係わる
なのでカワウソのお母さんは生まれてまもない赤ちゃんの時点からスパルタ式で教育する
生後2か月くらいになると、母親は半ば強引に子どもの首をくわえて水のあるところまで出かける
そんでもって、泳いだこともないわが子を水に突き落とす
子どもは驚き、もがきながら陸地に這い上がろうとするけど、ここでママさんは水に溺れたわが子に全体重をかけ水に沈める
もともと体が水に浮きやすい構造のため、ここでくたばる赤ちゃんはいないらしい
こんなことを繰り返してるうちに、ほんの数時間で赤ちゃんカワウソは泳げるようになる

Becca Van Beek, a zookeeper at Oregon Zoo, said, “You may be surprised, but swimming is not something that otter babies can learn naturally. My mother has to teach,” explains Tilly. “Tilly is a very good teacher. At first glance, you may feel a little sorry for the child, but this is a very natural behavior,” he added.
The footage shows Tilly trying to force Mo into the water, pushing and pulling him into the water, and letting him swim on his own.
