European Park is Germany’s largest theme park and the second most popular theme park in Europe after Disneyland Paris.
It is located in Rust in southwestern Germany, between Freiburg and Strasbourg in France.
There are 12 roller coasters in the park, the oldest being the Alpine Express Mine Train, a power coaster that runs through the diamond mine, and the latest Arthur, a combination of indoor and outdoor hanging power coasters and dark rides. European Park has very high capacity roller coasters and attractions that can accommodate up to about 50,000 guests per day. The number of visitors exceeded 4.9 million in 2013.
Various events are held throughout the summer. The biggest event of all is the Midsummer Party, which is open until late at night with a fireworks display held at the theme park. Throughout October, horror nights are held throughout the night, and you can enjoy a variety of Halloween horror maze, rides and shows. In the last week of the main season, fireworks shows and music performances are held every day.
There are five resort hotels in European Park. There is also a spacious camping resort for those who want to keep their budget down. If you bring your sleeping bag, you can stay in a tipi, a chuck wagon, or a log cabin. It is adjacent to the camp resort, and camping and caravans are also available.
