飼ってる猫が高い所に登ってしまい自力で下りられなくなった動画はユーチューブなどにたくさん投稿されている。ちょっと探せばいくらでも出てくる。家の屋根の上や建物の上とか。人が登れる高さなら脚立を使って救出できる。しかしこれが高い木となると救出は厄介だ。実はこの動画のようなケースは素人には無理なレベルだと思たほうがいい。かなり難しい。レスキュー隊員だった経験を活かしさまざまなペットレスキューに携わった人が木に登った猫の救出方法を紹介している。高所から下りられなくなった猫の助け方だ。

One day, firefighters and park managers at Grand Canyon National Park received an emergency rescue request. A cat that escaped from a residential area near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon ran up a huge tree and was unable to move along the way.
“The cat was about 4.5 meters high on the Ponderosa pine tree,” said Joe from the national park’s public relations office.
The cat, later identified as Archie, had hardened against the branches of the tree and was unable to get down on its own. Fortunately, the firefighters at the scene knew how to help Archie. The firefighters brought high ladder and leaned against the tree. Then, while the park manager was firmly supporting the ladder, a firefighter climbed toward Archie.
The frightened Archie, solidified on a tree, waited for the firefighter to approach him. Shortly afterwards, the fireman finally reached Archie, and carefully reached out and lifted Archie from the branch.
The fireman then descended to the ground, holding Archie tightly. Archie was happy to be back on the ground again and thanked the people who helped him.
Park officials began searching Archie’s family after Archie was safe and unharmed. Administrators shared Archie’s rescue on social media and waited for family calls.
Then, that evening, the managers found the very person they were looking for.
“Archie was reunited with her owner at around 7 p.m. that day,” Joe said.
