令和の時代は外国人も小学生も声優になりたい人が増えています
日本でアニメ声優になりたい、日本で学んで自分の国で声優になりたい
そんな夢を持った外国人が通うアニメーションスクールの外国人専門コースも増えてきた
一般的には将来アニメ関係の仕事をしたく普段は日本の大学に通う学生などが多いそうだ
授業は日本語で行われ中国人が一番多い
通うきっかけは、全員一様に日本のアニメが大好きだったこと
小さいときから日本のアニメを見てきて日本語を独学で学び、日本の文化に興味を持ち、本場の日本に行って学びたい、そして日本にやって来る

“These cultural differences are often seen in classes. I teach Japanese culture to my students every time, but I am learning other cultures.”
As the class came to an end, after a round of rounds, we recruited people who wanted to perform one more performance, but there were also scenes where students could hardly raise their hands.
“This is a common problem for both Japanese and foreign students, but many students are shy about performing in public. To become a voice actor, it’s important how much shame you can give up and do it in public, and how much shame you can overcome. Voice actors also need to be especially eloquent and articulate. It’s a voice expression, so you have to know exactly what you’re talking about.”
Before the course was established for foreign students, some foreign students attended night courses in the Japanese voice acting department. The American woman does not currently work as a voice actor, but once belonged to a voice actor’s office. The course for foreign students was created because there were many requests from foreign students like her who studied at Japanese universities. However, she can’t become a voice actor just by completing this weekly course. This course is just a place to modify Japanese accents, improve your tongue, and refine your Japanese. Therefore, he recommends a full-time course for those who want to become voice actors.
“There are also students who want to become voice actors in their home country. For example, there are no voice actors in China, but announcers are in charge of their voices. I think it’s okay to have a full-time voice actor there. You can learn what you need to do to become a voice actor here.”
This one-week course for foreign students has a good reputation because they can take lessons with their favorite anime and improve their Japanese pronunciation.
Personal communication is also a necessary skill for voice actors
In recent years, voice actors have become like idols, not only in charge of voice, but also in public events and live shows. How are training schools responding to these major changes in the voice acting industry?
“The number of voice actor offices has increased and the number of members has increased. In the past, there were ambiguous aspects such as individual exchange of gala, but now I have a manager and the anime gala has been decided well, and I have a system for secondary use issues such as DVD. In addition, voice actors, who used to mainly dub anime and foreign movies, have also increased their demand for voices due to the increase in online video distribution services represented by Netflix. In addition, voice actors have started to appear in idol-like activities, as well as in the 2.5D stage based on manga and anime. In response, the academy improved the course content, and students who wanted to become voice actors like idols started to enter the school.”
